A prequel TV series for Sex and the City, which follows Carrie Bradshaw’s teenage years and her early days as a writer, has been given the go ahead in US. It is based on ‘Sex and the City’ author Candace Bushnell’s novel The Carrie Diaries, set in New York.

TV network, CW, has confirmed it will pilot the new programme and the show will focus on Sarah Jessica Parker’s character and her life before she met her friends. The character’s high school life in Manhattan will see her asking questions about love, sex, friendship and family, the BBC reported.

Casting for the series has yet to be confirmed. Unconfirmed reports suggest that Blake Lively, from ‘Gossip Girl’, and Miley Cyrus are in the running to play a young Carrie Bradshaw.

The CW prequel is being written by Amy Harris, who worked on HBO’s original.

The film Sex and the City, starring all the original characters, won many awards in 2008. The 2010 sequel, which was panned by critics, went on to make 288 million dollars at the global box office. (Source)

Kristin has revealed that she finds it difficult to work since adopting her newborn baby Gemma. The Sex and the City actress explained in an interview with Access Hollywood that it has been difficult to leave her newborn child even for short periods of time.

“I have to say, [working is] still really stressful. I have amazing help or I would never get through it,” Davis explained. “But last week we had a day where I didn’t see her awake. I left in the dark I got home in the dark. I saw her when she was sleeping… and then you feel, you know, wrong inside, so it’s a struggle.”

Davis went on to suggest that some people often wrongly look down upon celebrity adoptions.

“I feel like people don’t really understand adoption, and there are a lot of misconceptions, and I know there’s kind of a cynical view that famous people somehow buy their babies which is, you know, very, very far from the truth,” she said. “There are a lot of laws involved in adoption and everybody has to go through the same process.”

Davis previously said that she has wanted to start a family for many years.

The actress will next appear on the big screen in Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, which opens on February 10 in US and UK cinemas. (Source)

Hello everyone!

Directed by Jim O’Hanlon, Of Two Minds has officially begun filming! The movie was written by Richard Friedenberg and is expected to be released in 2012. Kristin will not only star in the film, but she will also be an executive producer for the project.

The Lifetime original movie, Of Two Minds will deals with mental illness. Tammy Blanchard will star opposite Davis in the film, which chronicles the relationship between a woman (Davis) and her younger sister (Blanchard), who has schizophrenia.
